The second interior iteration of Bocci’s permanent home in Milan will be unveiled during Milan Design Week 2024. Featuring a pop-up shop for the Milan edition of Bocci’s first portable light and a selection of new glass artworks by Milan-based artist Valentina Cameranesi Sgroi, the apartment will be transformed into a captivating nocturnal theatre and fresh interpretations of the brand’s recent and iconic designs.

The exhibition “Unexpected Guests” presents commissioned artworks by Valentina Cameranesi Sgroi. Sgroi’s pieces explore the relationship between natural and artificial elements, the presence of objects in collective memory, and vernacular decoration. Her glass objects, all crafted in Milan, evoke the atmosphere of a film set and convert the domestic interior into a cinematic experience.

Bocci will also reveal a pop-up shop in their Milan home for the launch of a new sepia-coloured edition of the 14p - a portable adaption of their iconic first design. 14p transforms Bocci’s iconic 14 Series, first launched in 2005, into a portable, candle-like table light. The rechargeable cast-glass pendant is fully wireless, rechargeable and has three dimming levels.

As Bocci will open their Milan apartment for a second time since last year’s Milan Design Week, the interior of the spaces has been refreshed and revamped to welcome new and returning guests. Each lighting installation has found a new home within the space, highlighting the flexibility and interchangeability of the collections.

Orior – the New York and Ireland based design studio – will make their Milan Design Week debut to launch Fearn, a collection of sculptural marble planters. Like many of Orior’s pieces, the assortment reinterprets historic Irish themes and forms for the modern age.

The wall surfaces of the apartment have been reworked by Milan-based Pictalab, a team of highly skilled decorators, painters and artisans who created hand-painted textures, evoking velvet and parchment, adorn the walls, bringing about a mesmerizing transformation. This fusion of mirrored and metal leaf elements expressed through intricate craftsmanship offers visitors a unique exploration of artistry and design.

Following Milan Design Week 2024, the apartment is permanently open to the public by appointment. Located at Via Lorenzo Mascheroni 2, guests are invited to access the apartment via. Via Giuseppe Rovani, 20.
