-
No. This piece of silicone is necessary to prevent dust and other objects from entering the pendant. It should remain in place for the life of the fixture.
-
Yes, 28 comes in many colours. Colour pendants incur a surcharge.
Please note there may be slight variations in the colour saturation and tone of the glass.
-
We offer an online colour selection tool. You can also test out Bocci's new beta Configurator with the 28.20 series.
-
We don’t offer a sample kit for the 28 Series, because all the pendants are handmade. Each and every pendant has a natural variation in tone and colour.
28 is also blown in a gradient style, meaning the colour is more saturated on one side and gradually fades out across the pendant. This prevents us from sending “chips,” as they can’t tell the full story.
Our online colour selection tool is the best way to view the options. All the colours are designed to work together, so it’s very hard to make a mistake. Keep in mind that every pendant will have its own unique character.
-
Yes. Our colour selection tool uses photographs of real pendants taken by Bocci photographers in our studio. The pendants shown are the best possible representation of the actual appearance of that particular colour. Please use the “on/off” function to view the glass when both lit and off.
-
You can find all the weights listed on the specification sheet.
-
All of Bocci's xenon fixtures are dimmable, and LED fixtures with three or more pendants are also dimmable. Please specify the type of dimming at time of order.

87 Series
-
87 is pure pulled glass. The pearlescent finish is achieved through the addition of carbonated water to the hot glass, which is then stretched and folded back on itself. A low-voltage light source sits at one end of the loop. Learn more about our 87 Process.
-
87 pendants vary greatly in size. They can be anywhere from 300 to 500mm (11.8”–19.7”) in length and 115 to 240mm (4.5”–9.4”) in width.
-
Our production team includes a variety of sizes with every 87 Series order, per the intended design aesthetic.
-
No. 87 pendants come in clear glass only, in the size range specified above.
-
Only one: our braided nickel coaxial cable.
-
Every 87 pendant rests on a cylindrical lamp holder with a cable attached to either end. One is a braided steel coaxial cable terminating in a G4 socket that houses the lamp. The other is a slim steel suspension cable that provides balance and allows for sculptural installations, if desired.
-
87 can be installed in two main ways: (1) all the pendants hang straight down from the canopy, or (2) the pendants are suspended between the canopy and the surrounding ceiling area in a "V" shape.
Installation style (2) requires ceiling anchor kits and a design drawing. Note that it is essential for the two cables (coaxial and suspension) to be the same length for the pendant to sit properly on the cylindrical lamp holder.
-
The cluster canopy has all the connections clustered in the centre. This allows you to create a dense but slim vertical installation that is particularly well suited for accent corners or large stairwell voids.
-
All fixture weights are listed on the specification sheet.
-
Bocci strongly recommends remote-mounted power supplies, especially for larger or hard-to-reach installations. All power supplies have a finite lifespan and remote mounting makes it easier to service them in the future.
87 fixtures that use anchor kits to suspend the pendants between the canopy and the surrounding ceiling area require 3/4" marine-grade plywood backing throughout the entire installation area.
-
Unscrew the cap at the suspension cable end of the lamp holder assembly. Push the coaxial cable through the slot in the silicone sheath, and remove the lamp and lamp adapter. Remove the old lamp and place the new lamp. Also see our how-to video.
-
First, use a duster or other dry cleaning method to remove debris. If further cleaning is required, spray glass cleaner on a lint-free cloth and polish the exterior of the pendant. It is best to avoid any liquid getting on the coaxial cable, as it is a braided metal and can corrode over time.
-
Yes, they can be used as surface lights. 87 surface lights come with the same cylindrical lamp holder, which attaches to a surface-mounted backplate. The end cap comes in white or brass.
100 Series
-
Bubbles of molten glass are prepared by multiple glass artists, then smashed together to produce unpredictable interlocking glass forms. Learn more about our 100 Process.
-
All 100 pendants are handmade and therefore unique, but the general size range is 150-191mm (5.5”-7.5”) in diameter.
-
Yes, each pendant is handmade, thus making it different and unique from the rest. Each glass bubble is placed in an improvisational act by multiple glass artists. The final form is dictated by this process.
-
In addition to clear glass, 100 is available in grey for a surcharge.
-
You can find all the weights listed on the specification sheet.
-
Buff the exterior of the pendant with a lint-free cloth. Do not use cleaners as it will damage the finish.
Please note that the crisp cut edges of the 100 pendants are fragile and can chip if not handled with care when installing and cleaning. Bocci recommends wearing gloves during the installation. The edges of the glass may be sharp to handle.
-
This series is compatible with 1.5W LED lamps.

The S mini backplate is 55mm (2.2”) in diameter and does not require mounting directly to a junction box but power supplies must be remote mounted inside a junction box according to local electrical codes. The SP backplate is 115mm (4.5”) in diameter and is designed to mount directly to a junction box. The SP backplate is paintable to match the finish of the surface onto which it is installed.
Random
-
Fixtures with up to 7 pendants come standard with 3m of site-adjustable coaxial cable. Larger chandeliers come with non-adjustable cables that you must specify at the time of order, from a minimum of 300mm (1ft) up to 3m (10ft) standard, or up to 30m (100ft) custom.
Please inquire about applicable surcharges for longer lengths.
-
Measure from the underside of the canopy (which has a depth of 53mm or 2”) to the underside of the pendant. Remember, you only need to provide the shortest and longest pendant lengths, and from those specifications, the Bocci team will create a random cascade throughout the range.
Please see our length measuring guide.
Stem
-
No, only the specified sizes are available. Please see the technical specifications and instructions. Extenders are only available for the column stem fixtures.
-
No. The glass pendants are specifically positioned to prevent the stem from bending or tilting.
-
The stem comes in a black powder coat or solid brass.
-
No.
-
No, this system is only designed for a level ceiling surface. The stem is a hard fixed and rigid system, so it is possible that any slope at all could cause extra stress on the connectors and possibly bend them.
-
To maintain your stem fixture, please regularly dust it with a lint-free cloth.
If further cleaning is required for the black stem, dampen a lint-free cloth with water only and wipe gently to remove dust and debris.
The brass stem is made with raw, unlacquered brass, which will patina over time, particularly where it has been touched. If you would like to remove these marks, you can buff the brass components with brass cleaner. Please avoid the electrical components when using brass cleaner.

Armature
-
Yes. At an installer’s discretion, Bocci’s standard canopies can be flush mounted with a ceiling surface. The formal specifications and install instructions for each model still apply.
-
No. Armature fixtures must be installed on a flat ceiling surface.
-
No. The armature is not rated for outdoor or wet locations use. These models are for indoor installation only.
-
RAL 9005. This is a black, matte finish.
-
No. At this time, Bocci offers each model as specified. Custom sizes, shapes, branches, and finishes are currently not available.
Armature canopies come with a black powder-coat finish and are available in two diameters: 160mm (6.3”) and 250mm (9.8”).
-
For armature fixtures, the maximum technical drop length from the ceiling to the underside of the lowest hanging pendant is 2.49m (8.17 feet). Each fixture comes with a default standard extender. Additional extenders may be swapped with this default extender or stacked to achieve the closest drop length within 2.49m (8.17 feet).
-
The silver tube is a removable casing that is shipped with the armature branches to protect the lamp holders from damage. Please remove this silver casing when installing.
-
Yes, the armature fixture can be installed over a standard junction box, but it cannot be adhered to or screwed into a standard junction box. The weights of the armature models vary, and the ceiling must be backed above the armature canopy and anywhere a ceiling anchor kit may be fitted on the ceiling.
-
Use a dry lint-free cloth to polish the exterior of the branch. It is best to avoid any excess liquid getting on the powder-coat finish.
-
Bocci includes three ceiling anchor kits with each armature fixture order. These can be used to balance the fixture but are not structurally needed. The ceiling must have backing support anywhere a ceiling anchor is used.
-
The armature fixture works with the 16, 28, 38V, and 73 pendants.
Tree
-
The tree’s bead-blasted steel armature system connects glass pieces to a series of branches and stems. Each segment carries low-voltage electricity and diverges into two to four branches, allowing an infinite variety of forms.
-
Trees work with the 16 and 73 Series.
-
All trees are rated for outdoor (or indoor) use based on structural analysis for moderately sheltered locations near seawater with minimal snow loads. Any other applications may need further engineering.
-
Stainless-steel installed outdoors will naturally mature and patina over time due to prolonged exposure to sunlight, pollutants, and other environmental conditions.
Bocci recommends that all trees installed outdoors be coated on site with a protective oil or paint finish to provide a barrier between the steel parts and any environmental elements that can cause surface corroding. Whether you choose an oil or paint finish depends on the desired aesthetic and the severity of the environment. You will need to maintain this coating over the fixture’s lifetime.
Please see the tree specification sheet for further information on environmental weathering.
-
Trees are available with 1.5W LED lamps.
